EA Not Supporting the PS Move

EA Sports does not currently see any value in supporting the PlayStation Move with future FIFA titles. This is despite announcing future support for the Moves arch-nemisis the Microsofot Kinect.

“We have not focused on PS Move for FIFA, but that’s not to say we won’t,” senior vice president Andrew Wilson explained to Eurogamer.

“There have been different problems we’re solving as we go through the process. That’s not one we’ve sought to solve. We’ve focused a lot with PS Move with Tiger, and we’ve looked at other sports where it seems a natural fit.

“What we learnt coming through the Wii development cycle is to use the controller to add value, and if the controller doesn’t add value, don’t use it.

“Far be it for me to say the Move controller is right or wrong for FIFA. We’ve not seen it to add value today. But it’s only one person that comes and says, ‘I’ve got a great idea.’”

It will be interesting to see how EA integreates the Kinect into FIFA games and furthermore Madden, NCAA, NHL, NBA and all their other sporting titles. Sadly, for now at least, PS3 owners will have no such experience with the Move, instead you'll have to make do with the Six-Axis controllers.

You say that it will be interesting to how the Kinect fits in with future EA titles but it was shown at E3 already. The Kinect will mainly be used for voice commands like calling plays, calling substitutions, time outs that sort of thing. EA never said they were ditching the controller. Unfortunately for PS3 owners there is no external mic (yet) but the games will be played in the same sort of fashion so they're not missing anything really

Motion controllers over rated, gamers prefer joyless.
