Sony Interactive Entertainment has confirmed that the pre-download for Grand Theft Auto VI on PlayStation 5 will begin on November 10. This step precedes the game’s official launch, scheduled for November 19, allowing players to have the game ready to play immediately upon release.
The pre-download will be available exclusively to those who have pre-ordered the game through the PlayStation Store or participating retailers. Players should ensure their PlayStation accounts are set up and verified to facilitate a smooth download process once it opens.
Storage Requirements and Preparation on PS5
According to Sony, users must clear a minimum of 212GB of free storage space on their PS5 consoles to accommodate the pre-download. For players facing space constraints, exploring options to expand console storage is advisable ahead of the November 10 availability. Downloading the game in advance aims to reduce waiting times and enable immediate access at launch.
Pre-order Details and Editions
Pre-orders are available through the digital PlayStation Store and selected physical retailers. The Ultimate Edition of Grand Theft Auto VI offers additional content, including premium vehicles, weapons, and apparel tied to the protagonists Jason and Lucia’s storyline. Detailed pricing and edition specifics are accessible via the PlayStation Store product page.
Accessory Support for PS5 Players
Sony also highlighted compatible PS5 accessories for players preparing for the game’s arrival. These include the DualSense Edge wireless controller, PlayStation Pulse wireless headset, Pulse Elevate Wireless speakers, and other PS5 peripherals that can be configured to personalise the user experience.
Further information regarding Grand Theft Auto VI will be provided by Sony closer to the November 19 release date.
