Since the very first announcement of I Am Alive, and the rumoured connection that was made to the Assassins Creed team and namely Jade Raymond (feel free to google that one), hype was amassed. The premise of a post-apocalyptic first-person shooter is luring by any means, but when that is coupled with a fantastic team and brand the possibilities become tantalising.
Unfortunately you will have to wait a long time to get your hands, or even eyes, on the game. Ubisoft have announced that the game has not been cancelled (yay!) but has instead had development overhauled and won’t be seen until at least April 2011 (noo!). It is certainly good to hear that Ubisoft are determined to deliver a game we want to play, enough even for an overhaul in development and a fresh financial year. Using the Conviction engine and being developed by Ubisoft’s internal Shanghai studio (with rumoured development thrown aside) this is certainly one to watch.
