Legends of Rock exceeds $1 billion

Activision has revealed some facts and figures after achieving a pretty high milestone. Publishing CEO at Activision, Mike Griffith, revealed Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock has become the first single game ever to exceed $1 billion. The figure was reached with the help of download sales on both the Xbox Live Marketplace and PlayStation Network.

Downloads for all Guitar Hero games (including World Tour) stand at 21 million with over 141,000 user-generated songs making its way onto the GHTunes service. Since releasing at the end of 2007, the game has been available on PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Nintendo Wii, Xbox 360, PC and Mac.
