The Console Monster Forum Awards 2008 have come to a close. The votes have been added and now it’s time to scrub up, put on your best suit and join us as it’s time to reveal the winners.

Who’s Always Online

The first award is the “Who’s Always Online Award” which has been awarded to the member that can always be seen posting on the forums, reading every single word and maybe even stalking some of the members.

The nominations are:

Winning the votes by 6.67% was Phatmuther who is rewarded with a copy of Facebreaker for the Xbox 360. Let’s hope this keeps him off the forums.

Most Helpful Member

The second award is for the “Most Helpful Member” which is awarded to the Mother Teresa of the forums. They will always be a good help to members new and old and are commonly seen in the Bargain Basement, posting some of the best deals.

The nominations are:

bingo83 takes this award. Just one vote separated him and Dcontrol. bingo83 will be rewarded with a copy of Battlefield: Bad Company for the Xbox 360.

Best Thread of 2008

The next award is for the “Best Thread of 2008.” The winner of this award is awarded to the thread starter for coming up with such a good idea.

The nominations are:

Bunch of avys – Fleeboi
damn my —- stinks (rate the last —- you had) – Raisedbyflames
CTRL + V – Phatmuther

The winner of this award goes to Fleeboi. The avatars made in the thread were brilliantly done and the quantity produced was very impressive. For his hard work and effort, Fleeboi has bagged himself a copy of Army of Two on the PlayStation 3.

Best Forum Signature

The “Best Forum Signature Throughout 2008” award is for the forum member who has kept us the most entertained throughout the year. Many of us may have stared at the signature for hours on end.

The nominations are:

Picking up this award, and deservedly so, is MjMaskrey. Whilst he missed out on “Most Helpful Member,” I am sure he’ll be delighted to have won this award and in doing so, wins himself a copy of Brothers in Arms: Hell’s Highway for the Xbox 360.

Best Forum Avatar

Not only do the forum member’s signatures keep us entertained, so do the avatars. In the award for “Best Forum Avatar,” we reward a certain forum member for their choice of avatar.

The nominations are:

Picking up his second award of the night, along with a copy of FIFA Street 3 on the Xbox 360, is Fleeboi who took a staggering 60% of the vote.

Best Username

We are down to our last three awards. This next award is for the “Best Username.” Choosing a username when you first sign up to the forums may not seem like much, but it becomes your identity and our three nominations have been recognized for doing so.

The nominations are:

With nine votes each and tied first place comes SnowyM1nge and Phatmuther. An Xbox 360 copy of UEFA Euro 2008 will be coming your way shortly.

Best Staff Member

The penultimate award is for the people who are churning out the content for the front page. Yes, it’s the “Best Staff Member” award. After a lot of controversy, and a mysterious nomination appearing, the votes went down to the final few days.

The nominations are:

Despite both Dvx Uk and Dcontrol both earning 42.86% of the votes each, we felt it would be unfair for the host of the Console Monster Forum Awards taking home the prize of UEFA Euro 2008 on the PlayStation 3 so it has been awarded to Dcontrol. I was expecting Wriggy to win…

Member of the Year 2008

Now for the final award and this is the award for Console Monster’s “Member of the Year 2008.” Whatever this user has done in 2008 has certainly been recognized. From keeping us up-to-date with the latest going-ons, to informing us of things we must know about, the winner of this award truly deserves it.

The nominations are:

Dvx Uk

I have just been handed the envelope containing the winner’s name. The person taking home a copy of Mercenaries 2 for the Xbox 360 and becoming Console Monster’s Member of the Year for 2008, with over 70% of the votes, it is the one and only: bingo83. Congratulations.

If you’ve been awarded with a prize, check your private message inbox over the next few days when we’ll be arranging delivery details of your prize (or prizes in some case).

On behalf of all the staff at Console Monster, we would like to thank everyone who voted including all the nominees; we’d like to say a big thank-you to Dvx Uk for arranging the Forum Awards 2008 and finally, an even bigger thank-you to you for reading.

But the fun doesn’t stop there. Our forums are open 24 hours, seven days a week. If you’d like to join in, simply head over to our forums, sign up and get involved!

I’ve been David Wriglesworth, and you’ve been reading the Console Monster Forum Awards 2008. Goodnight!
