After years of console gamers’ only memory of the first Crysis being those filled with the mocking voices of PC gamers, today Crytec announced that the original Crysis will be coming to consoles this October via the Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network Store.
The console version is said to be a “remastered, modified and enhanced version of the game“.
Cevat Yerli, CEO of Crytek, also added “We are extremely proud of what we were able to accomplish with Crysis. We set out to create a next-generation FPS and delivered a PC experience that became a benchmark for quality – and still is for many gamers even four years later. By bringing the single-player campaign to console, we believe we are again setting a new standard for quality in downloadable gaming.“
Crysis is set to hit consoles next month for1600 Microsoft Points or£15.99/$19.99 on the PlayStation Store.
Introduced to video games when he was only five, after dying somewhere around four thousand times while playing Star Tropics, he never looked back. Some of his favorites range from titles like Shenmue and Metal Gear Solid 3 to Half-Life 2, Manhunt, and the Dark Souls series. Justin has a passion for vinyl records, and loves to collect video game memorabilia. If he had one wish, it would be to travel back to 1984 Miami.
