Call of Duty: Warzone to Integrate Fully with Modern Warfare 4 in Season 1 Update

Activision has confirmed that Call of Duty: Warzone will officially integrate with Modern Warfare 4 starting November 6, coinciding with the launch of Season 1 for MW4. This update will bring significant changes for Warzone players across Xbox, PlayStation and PC, including new maps, weapons, and gameplay enhancements. The integration also marks the end of Warzone support on Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

As part of the shift, Warzone players will gain access to fresh content aligned with the Modern Warfare 4 ecosystem. The initial rollout includes two new Warzone maps: Hajin and Zodiac. Zodiac, first revealed during the MW4 beta, is a smaller Resurgence map set around a drone manufacturing facility in South Korea. Hajin serves as the new large-scale Battle Royale map, spanning locations across North and South Korea, familiar to players who have experienced DMZ in Modern Warfare 4.

New Maps and Returning Classics for Warzone Season 1

Hajin’s design brings variable weather conditions into Warzone, featuring dynamic scenarios such as fog and clear skies. It also introduces two new Gulags for players to compete in. Verdansk, the well-known classic map, will return to the Battle Royale rotation later in the season, complete with new points of interest. Additionally, Rebirth Island, a familiar Resurgence map, will rejoin the rotation at some stage during Season 1.

Gameplay Changes and Weapon Additions

The integration brings Modern Warfare 4’s arsenal to Warzone, including all new weapons and attachments introduced in MW4 along with those added in this season. Legacy weapons dating back to Modern Warfare 2 will continue to be available, featuring updated five-attachment versions and players’ legacy blueprints.

Several quality-of-life improvements will also be implemented. One notable change is the availability of Tactical Sprint to all Operators without requiring a Perk, though with a reduced duration. Players will also be able to drag downed teammates to safer locations during revives, enhancing team survivability.

Weapon balancing adjustments are part of the update, alongside improved footstep audio and overall map visibility enhancements. Warzone maps Hajin, Zodiac, and Verdansk will now feature interactive movable objects like fuel barrels, dumpsters, and pyramid-shaped items, which can be used strategically or destroyed during gameplay.

The Aston Martin Dreadnought vehicle, previously seen in DMZ mode, will also join Warzone’s vehicle roster. Players can utilize new Elite Perks, granting a fourth perk in their loadouts found through Buy Stations or Supply Run contracts, with only one active at a time.

This integration signifies a substantial content and mechanics shift for Warzone players on modern console and PC platforms while concluding service for the previous generation. The full transition takes effect with the start of Modern Warfare 4’s first season on November 6.
