Xbox Live Pulling In For A Service

Major Nelson has today announced the latest service for Xbox Live. On October 17th for 24 hours, Xbox Live, Xbox.com and the Xbox forums will be down for maintenance. Why you ask? Well Microsoft are “adding some cool stuff” that they will “tell you about when [they’re] back online October 18.”

Major Nelson was also clear to point out that a full dashboard update will not follow immediately. This is scheduled for sometime in Autumn (or Fall if you live on the other side of the pond).

Currently it’s unknown if this will cause the already delayed Phantasy Star Universe Open Beta to be delayed even further. The Beta had been due to start on October 11th and run through to October 18th. The Beta was recently delayed until October 17th with it closing on October 18th. Many fans now fear the Beta will be reduced to just 24 hours.
