Watch Dogs breaks Ubisoft day-one sales record

Watch Dogshas sold the most copies in its first 24 hours of any game in Ubisoft history, the firm announced Wednesday.

The firm did not address specific sales numbers. Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot said in a prepared statement that Watch Dogs’ sales are particularly impressive considering it does not belong to an established franchise.

“Watch Dogs is an amazing achievement and our teams should be proud that the creativity, innovation and long hours they invested in making this game are paying off,” Guillemot said.

“It’s great to see so many players enjoying the game, and it shows that Watch Dogs has cracked the code for developing a new blockbuster IP and a thoroughly new-gen experience.”
