Ubisoft to develop next-gen snowboard games

Ubisoft, one of the worlds leading game publishers, announced today that they would be collaborating with Six time X Games gold medallist and snowboarding half-pipe gold medallist at this years Winter Olympics (the one on TV!), Shaun White, to develop a new range of snowboarding titles for current-gen and next-gen consoles.

White will work alongside Ubisoft to recreate the thrill and excitement from snowboarding.

Shaun says:

“I’m stoked to be working with Ubisoft to develop a video game that captures the thrill of snowboarding like no game has done before, I’m a huge fan of Ubisoft games like Prince of Persia, so I’m excited to be able to combine what I love about snowboarding and gaming into an experience for everyone to enjoy.”

Shaun White is just 19 years old and is one of the world’s greatest snowboarding sensations.  He is the only snowboarder ever to win gold in both the half-pipe and slopestyle at the Winter X Games.

To win the recent 2006 Winter Olympics, Shaun pulled off back-to-back 1,080-degree rotations grabbing his board on both.  (wow!).

Shaun White and Ubisoft’s first snowboarding collaboration is due to hit the shelves sometime in 2007.
