Tim Schafer is renowned as a legend by many in the games industry, and I couldn’t agree more after falling in love with such gaming classics as Grim Fandango and Psychonauts. It is no surprise that when the man mentions that he is ready to take on a sequel to the cult hit Psychonauts that it is deemed news worthy.
In a recent interview Tim stated: “I’m ready to do it. I’d love to do it. It’s really a question of getting a publisher who’s interested in doing it.“. He then went on to support the games late adopters, “Over the years it’s gotten into the hands of a lot of people, through being two dollars on Steam for a while, and being pirated.“
“So it’s gotten out there. So if all these people were going to buy the sequel it would be a big hit,” added Schafer.
First the announcement that Monkey Island creator Ron Gilbert joined Schafer’s side on a new secret project, and now this. My hopes for the future of gaming still remain high, so if you happen to own a large games publishing company get in there and ensure the happiness of my future self!
