Mass Effect 3 Copies Will Fall From the Sky, LITERALLY

PR stunts are part and parcel of EA’s daily routine, but todays news is truly awesome even by their standards.

EA will literally be making it rain copies of Mass Effect 3 by sending the game into space (well pretty close).

The game will be attached to weather balloons in New York, San Fransisco, London, Berlin, Las Vegas and Paris sometime next week. After gravity has done it’s trick the balloon will pop leaving the discs to float back to earth and into the open arms of unsuspecting gamers.

The games will be trackable using the Mass Effect 3 website so don’t worry it’s not as difficult as watching for the balloons to pop up in the atmosphere.

It also means that those lucky enough to find a copy will get to play the game long before it’s March 9th release date.

So keep an eye on the sky as it’s going to be raining Mass Effect 3 from next week.

Despite a long absence from gaming, during which he spent many a night reminiscing about the glory days on Halo 2, Matty is now back online smashing his way through Black Ops and soon enough Gears of War 3 and Battlefield 3.
