Leaves About To Drop On Flower

While they may have made a game concerning the perfect make-up gift available at all good petrol stations and newsagents, thatgamecompany are certainly not turning a new leaf by continuing their run of nature-based, innovative games with their petal-tastic new offering, Flower.

Petals in the wind or money in a sleeper cash-cow storm?

The game, planting its roots in the UK on the PlayStation Network on February 12th, sees the player guiding petals of dreaming flowers (bear with me) through a myriad of surreal and tranquil levels, trying to meet with other petals and bring colour to the game world. While the game’s premise is abstract, it could prove to be as successful as a leaf in an updraught and soar to new heights in the great greenhouse of indie games.

Sam Finch

Sam has been unable to peel his bloodshot eyes and RSI-ridden wrists from the world of gaming since he was first introduced to it, like all good junkies, by his Grandad. From those early days of MegaDrive sweetness, bashing through the throngs of enemies on Shining Force II, his love of all things games has extended upwards and outwards onto a variety of platforms. You can either believe that spiel, or get the real scoop and know that his spaceship actually crashed here some years ago and he is currently incognito as a games writer for Console Monster.
