I MAED A GAM3 W1TH Z0MB1ES!!!1 on Xbox Live Indie

I don’t really venture into the Indie Games section of the Xbox Live Marketplace too often, and I’m sure many of you don’t either. From what I’ve seen it’s either a remote massager, some crappy screensaver or a pretty average game that isn’t worth the space taken up in your Hard Drive.

Well, a few days ago a friend told me to check out a game with a rather curious title, I MAED A GAM3 W1TH Z0MB1ES!!!1. So I did. I downloaded the trial and was greeted with an surprisingly fun twin stick shooter. It’s very tounge in cheek, as you can tell by the title alone, with the soundtrack flicking between some terrible vocals singing about how he made a game with zombies to some generic drum ‘n’ bass.

The game itself isn’t in levels, instead it is one continuous stage; sort of like a survival mode. You need to get as far into the game without loosing all your lives. By the time you get to the 5th or 6th stage, enemies literally fill the screen and it becomes hard to see anything. But that just adds to the fun.

Think Geometry Wars but with Zombies. It looks pretty decent and, with 4 player local co-op, it’s enough to tide you over between those Geo Wars breaks.

And guess what! It’s only 80MS Points! That’s less than £1.

This is one of the few decent games on the Xbox Live Indie Games that I fear might be overlooked by some people. It’s worth a look at least. Especially if you just want a cheap, little game.
