Electronic Arts, at their gamescom press conference, revealed that DICE have set the release date for the sequel to “that war game with the explodey things” Battlefield: Bad Company for March 2nd 2010 in North America and March 5th in Europe for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
The game is set to feature what DICE call “Destruction 2.0”, an improvement on the destruction engine in the first game. Cover will be gradually chipped away by gunfire and entire buildings can be levelled quickly and easily. Sounds very much like Volition’s Red Faction: Guerrilla.
Not only are DICE going head on with Volition, they also took a shot an Infinity Ward by saying that Bad Company 2 will be the ultimate online experience which we assume means they want to take the crown away from the upcoming Modern Warfare 2.
We’ll have to see if DICE can live up to these promises come March.
