GH: Greatest Hits has a name change?

Activision is remaining hush-hush on speculation that Guitar Hero: Greatest Hits has being renamed Guitar Hero: Smash Hits.

Hopefully it won’t include any of the songs generally played on the channel of the same name. Whether or not the rumour is true remains to be seen, but box art on Kotaku could suggest otherwise.

Greatest/Smash Hits will be out for the PS3 and Xbox 360 in the Summer and will compile all the best tracks from the Guitar Hero series so far including I, II, II and Rocks the 80s.

There will be other improvements however to the Music Studio, GHTunes and the Rock Star Creator modes as well as an Expert+ difficulty (we can’t crack Hard still!). It’ll also support the drums and microphone.

Before that will see the release of Guitar Hero: Metallica, where a demo can now be downloaded on the Marketplace. The full game should be out in May.
