First-Person Football Game

Namco’s idea of football is somewhat distorted.  Their upcoming 360 game, Love Football, will apparently be played in a first-person perspective when it is released in Spring 2006.

The producer of the title, Nobuhisa Mikoda, explains that the idea is to convey the feeling of being under pressure, as well as having the experience of being man-marked, defending properly and keeping position.

The game is set to feature more than 60 teams for you to choose from, including a feature to allow you to play as your favourite japanese player in a story mode.

We have a bad feeling that Namco have gone slighty off course with the whole football (Soccer to ye’ yanks) idea, and we highly doubt it’s going to be the next Pro Evolution Soccer or Fifa.

However, hats off to Namco for thinking up a new idea, but we’ll reserve judgement untill we’ve actually played it.
