European-only Red Faction: Guerrila demo launches

If you are looking for something to do over this extended weekend, THQ have launched the Red Faction: Guerrila single player demo.

The demo puts players into the role of Alex Mason, a miner who is lured by the rich veins of Martian ore on Mars, hungry for a new life. But the promise of a brighter future for Mason quickly fades. The Earth Defence Force, once protectors of Martian colonists, have adopted heavy-handed checkpoints and omnipresent armed patrols. As violence escalates, an underground resistance known as the Red Faction is swiftly gathering strength to combat the EDF. Mason’s quest for a new life has become a battle for survival, and the fate of the planet now rests with him and the Red Faction.

Red Faction: Guerrilla is coming to Xbox 360 and PLAYSTATION®3 this summer – but you can get your hands on the single player demo today and experience the most realistic destruction engine ever seen – Geo-Mod 2.0 – for yourself.

The demo is being offered to myTHQ members online right now so there are a limited amount of places. If you’re interested in a download code for the title (either PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360), log in (or sign up) and activate it from this page. The keys are region-locked to European Xbox Live and PSN accounts so unfortunately for friends across the ocean, they won’t be able to join in.

We’ve managed to obtain a spare Xbox 360 code which we will be hopefully giving away on Twitter tonight in case you miss out. You can read our Hands-On preview of the title here.
