Bungie have revealed the third and final map in the upcoming Halo 3 Legendary Map Pack. The new map is called Blackout and is a remake of the classic Halo 2 map, Lockout.

Blackout is “a UNSC research station set in the Arctic.” It was originally “going to be an oil derrick” but it was changed to the more fictional setting of “a human weather station in the middle of frozen nowhere.”

Details of the equipment on the new map were also mentioned. There will be “one regenerator, one bubble shield and one power drain.” As the map contains “such verticality and narrows spaces, the Bubble Shield is terribly effective for just shutting down certain lines of sight. It’s also fun to toss a Power Drain onto the helipad while everyone is fighting in the middle and just clean up.”

Do you like the look of Blackout? Will you be buying the Legendary Map Pack (containing Avalanche, Blackout and Ghost Town) for 800 Microsoft Points? Leave a comment with your thoughts.
