Operation Flashpoint 2 is already in the sights of another forthcoming title. Armed Assault 2 has been confirmed as coming to the consoles. Which ones? We don’t know just yet, but we’d place out bets on Xbox 360 and PS3. Armed Assault was released earlier this year on PC and was praised for it’s ambition, but criticised for it’s sometimes ridiculous difficulty spikes and the sheer number of bugs.
Bohemia Interactive are again at the helm (Bohemia being the team behind the original Operation Flashpoint) and are promising “arge-scale game world, authentic and extremely detailed modern units, weapons, vehicles and environments, challenging single player and vast array of multiplayer options”.
The game takes place in the fictional post-Soviet nation of Chernarus in the year 2009.
“Players will be sent as members of a United States Marine Corps Force Recon squad to this country to prevent further civilian casualties and ensure ongoing stability there.”
Armed Assault 2 is due out in 2008.
