Despite only being a beta, Epic has made it possible for gamers to unlock various items for them to use come September 2011 when the full game is finally released.
The content available to gamers currently using the beta include the following:
- Beta Tester Medal – Simply complete one match in the beta to receive the Beta Tester medal, which will be included in your gamer profile in the final game.
- Thrashball Cole – Complete 50 matches in the beta of any game type to unlock the Thrashball Cole character variant in the beta. When you unlock the new character, you can unlock him in the final game by completing 10 matches with him.
- Gold-Plated Retro Lancer – Complete 90 matches in the beta of any game type to unlock the golden Lancer for the beta. Once unlocked, if you get 100 kills with it, the Gold-Plated Lancer will be unlocked in the final game.
- Flaming Hammerburst – Complete one match by Sunday, 24 April to unlock this weapon.
- Flaming Lancer – Complete one match during the week of 25 April to unlock this weapon.
- Flaming Sawed-Off Shotgun – Complete one match during the week of 2 May to unlock this weapon.
- Flaming Gnasher Shotgun – Complete one match during the week of 9 May to unlock this weapon.
So for anyone lucky enough to get their hands on a beta key you now have even more reason to stay glued to your Xbox 360 until May 15th when the beta finally ends.
As for everyone else, you’ll simply have to wait until September.
