Xbox boss ‘doesn’t think Microsoft will make a dedicated gaming handheld’

Microsoft has no current plans to develop a dedicated handheld gaming device, Xbox boss Phil Spencer said on Twitter this week.

Spencer, who waspromoted to head of Xboxin late March, alsosaid this weekthat Microsoft plans to announce “a couple of things” before E3 2014, teasing: “May should be a good month for news. Took me a month to get plans set.”

Spencer said last monthMicrosoft’s E3 2014 press conferencewill feature “very few execs” and is already overstuffed with game-related announcements.
