Xbox 360 Arcade price to rise

Microsoft is set to increase the SRP of an Xbox 360 Arcade console from September 1st, Eurogamer has revealed.

It fuels further rumours that the Premium Xbox 360 will be discontinued which currently retails for £169.99.

The company is also set to remove the five free XBLA arcade games included in the bundle. Current Arcade SKU’s also ship with Sega Superstar Tennis and cost £139.99. It is unknown if this will change.

There are also talks that Microsoft will bump the cost up of accessories by a few quid to offset poor currency exchange rates (where have we heard that one before?).

An email sent to stores also only mentions the Arcade and Elite, the latter of which we’re unsure if yet it will reduce in price or not.

Stores are currently extremely low on stock or sold out of Premium 360’s with the company not having delivered any for a few weeks now.
