Originally released on Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1996, this is a game of friendship, heroics, rivalries and combat in a role-playing format. Players assume the role of Ryu, who sets off to rescue his sister battling mighty dragons and other foes with his brave band of followers along the way. Available for 800 Wii Points, this is a game you won’t want to miss.

Next up this week, battle your way to the furthest reaches of the galaxy as the 1989 arcade shooter GALAGA™ ’90 hits Virtual Console. This Turbografx title will once again have players fighting their way through space to breach the enemy strong hold of the Planet Galaga. With each level split into rounds featuring different alien enemies, players must seek out the best route to their goal, collecting Capsules to open new Dimensions along the way. GALAGA™ ’90 is available to download today for 600 Wii Points.

One of the fastest team games around ventures onto Virtual Console today. Originally released in 1987 on the Nintendo Entertainment System Volleyball recreates this action-packed sport in a way anyone can play! With eight male or female teams to select from, players pick their ultimate team and take part in practise rounds, before heading off to participate in games at an international level. With lobs, attacks and daring dives all at a players disposal, take on the Wii or a human opponent as Volleyball arrives on Virtual Console for 500 Wii Points.
