Unreal Engine 4 Running on an Unknown Console?

Epic Vic-President Mike Rein has today revealed that the Unreal 4 Engine is up and running on next generation consoles, the question of course being which ones?

Speaking at the DICE summit Rein commented on the new Engine saying that they have it working on “systems we can’t name yet”.

With a late 2012 reveal on the cards for the engine Mark went on to say, “People are going to be shocked later this year when they see Unreal Engine 4 and how much more profound an effect it will have.”

Rumours have already started to circulate as to the design of the next Xbox console. The front runner seems to be an Xbox controller that follows the theme of the Wii-U.

The Xbox 720’s new controller will be a small HD screen surrounded by buttons, personally I don’t think this will be the case. Why put a screen on your controller detracting a gamers view from the TV.

Then again i’m not a marketing guru so who knows what’s on the cards for the Xbox 720.

Despite a long absence from gaming, during which he spent many a night reminiscing about the glory days on Halo 2, Matty is now back online smashing his way through Black Ops and soon enough Gears of War 3 and Battlefield 3.
