Activision has this morning revealed that Tony Hawk: Ride will be released exclusively on the Xbox 360 in the UK.
We told you about the new series in the game yesterday which will use a skateboard minus wheels to mimic movement in-game.
It was due to be launched on PS3 and Xbox 360 as well as the Wii, but Microsoft have signed and sealed a deal for the game to be exclusive within the UK on the Xbox 360.
Now we’ve all seen that in the past when they sign an ‘exclusive’ and it appears on the rival a few months down the line but there is no word on whether this will happen and how ‘exclusive’ the deal actually is.
It will of course be a blow to Nintendo and Sony as the game is due out before Christmas, but Microsoft must have forked out a fair bit of money for the exclusivity.
Tell us if you are disappointed or pleased by the decision below.
Update:
Turns out all media, including us, were a little premature on that bit of news. It turns out Tony’s Ride will be out on multiple platforms:
“Further to the erroneous information which was distributed this morning regarding Tony Hawk: Ride, we would like to clarify that the game is due to be released on the following platforms: Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system and Wii home video game system.”
Thanks for DJ Bruce for the tip, and CVG for the info.
