TimeShift like so many other 360 titles has today been delayed. Vivendi confirmed that the original released date of September 2006 will not be possible and the game has now been pushed back to an un-announced date in 2007.
A spokesperson from Vivendi said the following about the delay, “Vivendi Games acquired TimeShift with the view that it would become a stand out FPS franchise. Our commitment to that vision remains, and so the decision has been taken to move the title into 2007 to give it the time and resources needed to fulfill its potential.”
Now to put it in perspective the game was first shown to the world by Atari in Jan of 2005, then in Jan of 06 a demo was released (which was slammed by the critics for its various bugs and glitches). Then Atari sold TimeShift to Vivendi and had a September release date set and now we have its latest delay which means gamers won’t be able to slowdown time until Early next year.
With so many delays, gamers are only expecting the best from Vivendi so it looks like they’ve got a lot of work to do.
