Ubiquitous gaming headset manufacturer, Turtle Beach, have announced they will be releasing aStar Wars-themed line of headsets, drawing upon”characters and artwork from the ever-expanding Star Warsgalaxy”.
The scope is huge, with so much source material for Turtle Beach to play with, and with the big reveal of the first designs coming out at E3 in June, where we’ll be finding out more about the upcomingStar Wars: Battlefrontfrom DICE, the expo is certain to have a tasty Star Wars flavour to it.
“n00b you are, 1337 skills you have not”
We’re promised “swappable speaker plates featuring Star Wars characters and artwork, sold as accessories”. If there’s anything to get the gaming unwashed to shed a few coins it’s customisation, and more personal gear does add to the experience someone so there is a market for this sort of thing. Let’s just hope TB don’t take their market for a ride when it comes to the cost.
The press release states: “Special edition headsets will span multiple Star Wars franchise properties”, so with this new line TB are clearly distancing themselves from the more specific Call of Dutyand Titanfall tie-ins we’ve seen over the past year, following their Marvel tie-in sets. Sadly no pictures as yet but we’ll be sure to keep our eyes peeled for you.
What would be really great is some form of Vader-filter to turn multiplayer chat into a chorus of James Earl Joneses; certainly preferable to the high pitched warblings of the pubescent little blighters continually putting paid to my killstreaks!
