The imposing, omnipresent shadow of Microsoft is looking to extend its grasp out and onto the high street. This would see MS even more openly challenging Apple in the constant battle for superiority. Currently, Apple stores dominate the holdings of high streets and shopping centres alike, and from newly announced plans, Microsoft looks set to be competing sometime in the future.
Announcing DreamWorks executive, David Porter, as head of the new MS venture, the high street-consumer waters look set to be very choppy.
