Ubisoft has announced today that its upcoming racer, The Crew, will be released worldwide on December 2nd.
This comes as disappointing news for any petrol-headed gamer that has been longing to get themselves behind the virtual wheel in the game.
To soften the blow, Ubisoft has announced that there will be a second closed beta on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, giving even more players the opportunity to experience the game, which is something the community has been requesting. Like the betas held previously, valuable player feedback and other essential information will be gathered, further enhancing the experience.
“Our philosophy remains to deliver the best game possible. We’re all committed to delivering a revolutionary experience in the driving genre and we can’t wait for The Crew to be in the hands of the players.” says Julian Gerighty, Creative Director.
This brings the game’s release after the launch of the next-gen iteration of GTA V, with its expansive and quite enjoyable online modes. Having played the closed beta, I found The Crew to be very similar to playing a car-based GTA game, so I am not sure this decision to delay the game is a wise one. What do you think?
