Soulcalibur IV Officially Unveiled

After weeks of teasing, Namco Bandai have finally officially unveiled Soulcalibur IV. The first details are scarce at the moment, but what is known is, Ivy, Mitsurugi and Nightmare will be returning alongside other old favourites and some new characters. The game will also feature “realistic environments, interactive stages, enhanced AI, and a new battle system” according to it’s publisher.

More details on the game will be announced in the next issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly which is out on July 3rd. Makoto Iwai, exec. VP and COO at Namco Bandai Games America said of the game:
“Soulcalibur has been a cornerstone franchise for Namco Bandai Games and this latest edition will build upon its legacy of groundbreaking fighting experiences, With Soulcalibur IV, long-time fans and newcomers to the franchise will be amazed by its visual beauty and intense, pulse pounding weapon combat.”

Soulcalibur IV is due for release sometime in 2008 on Xbox 360 and PS3. Keep it here at Console Monster for now on the game when we get it. Meanwhile check out this first trailer for the game below.
