Sony goes beyond Sixaxis with new controller

Sony joins in on the motion control bandwagon with their own 1-to-1 recognition motion controller. The controller, which is still in its early development stages, brought outthe casual side of the Playstation power horse.

Showing off some fun controls in a small virtual bed room, the motion controller was able to draw very precisely compared to the Nintendo’s Wiimote. When they started to demo the sword and shield gameplay I could only think of how fun this would be with a game like Oblivion, which shows real promise in how thecontroller could be integrated into more hardcoregames rather than just a casual market.

Spring 2010 seems to be their target release date for the controller but I’d be happy to just see a final version of the device by then.
