It was the latter part of last year when we not only heard about the upcoming Arcade title Sensible World of Soccer but we also saw an impression of what we would be playing on its release day.
Today we’ve been told by Codemasters about the games recent public appearance on their community forum. The first development screenshot of the HD version was shown for the first time and can be viewed over in our media area (or just see the screen below).

As you can tell from this Work in progress screenshot the basics are firmly in there, the gameplay we’ve also been assured is untouched and is exactly how it was originally. This new screenshot clearly shows the areas for ad hordings, possibly sponsored perhaps?
Being in HD we of course have more pixels to play with and the most clear improvement from this, although a subtle one, is the players’ expressions. So we will now see our little micro players show their excitement once the balls hit the back of the net; as long as you look close enough mind you.
If you would like to follow further developments of SWOS for Xbox Live Arcade head on over to the Codemasters SWOS forum, there is also a SWOS Flicker page available that will showcase any new screenshots during the creation of this most anticipated masterpiece that we can’t wait to get our hands on.
Let us know what you think to this bit of news. Is there anything you would like to see in SWOS HD? Send us your feedback below, you just never know who’s watching.
