Aliens: Colonial Marines is yet another title that built gamers up with hype and suspense, only to let each and everyone one of them down as the final product was revealed to be a horrific title in the Aliens franchise.
A tester who played the game long before release said via Reddit that not only did SEGA know the game sucked and still released a half-hearted game. He also revealed that the game was simply used as a cash cow to help fund the Gearbox title Borderlands 2.
As for the WiiU version, the tester had this to say:
“Oh wow. Yes okay. I was hoping someone would ask this. I have played the WiiU version. The one that is supposedly the best of all of them? It is not. It is the worst. It is a bit of a joke. The WiiU is basically the same game as the console version but with framerate issues, worse texture loading, and horrendously misguided minigames thrown in. You get a ‘scanner’ to scan enemies and get bonus points that aid your harming them. When you cut open doors (which happens a lot in the game) you have a game where you have to keep the heat ‘optimal’. They just add frustration, and take away even more from the fun. We don’t know if it will come out, Sega are conisdering canceling it, but right now its still going.”
It’s not all bad though as the same tester revealed that a new Aliens title being developed by Creative Assembley is far better, “The textures and lighting look really really good” said the tester and continued: “I’ve seen it running on a PC. The PS4 devkit looks like a computer. It looks as good rif not better running as any super high end pc. We did not have those controllers, but they look like what was promised.”
There is news from the Reddit site that the account is porbably a fishy user, so take what you read with a pinch of salt. Even so, i’m sure it’s not far from the truth.
