Sales for 360 up again, Sony remains hush-hush

The console figures are in from the US for the month of March and the Xbox 360 is still riding high. Sales are up 25 per cent, the only console that has done so during the last month.

It is the sixth month in a row that 360 sales have increased compared to last year. In terms of game sales, the top games were Resident Evil 5, Halo Wars, MLB 2K09 and Guitar Hero: Metallica. Game add-ons were also up, rising 128 per cent over last year. Impressive stuff.

On the other arm, Sony has remained fairly tight-lipped over its hardware figures. It did point out however that over a million copies of Killzone 2 have been shifted thus far.

They also claim ‘one in three PS3 titles achieve Metacritic scores of 80 or higher’, but we all know the problems with such websites.

Did you purchase a new console during March? Do you think figures for the Xbox 360 are high because people are resorting to second consoles due to ‘RROD’? Tell us below.
