Saints Row IV launching on Xbox One and PS4, new DLC announced

Saints Row IV is the latest title to be remastered for next generation consoles, the game’s developer has announced.

Volition revealed that the fourth title in the series will arrive on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in early 2015, alongside a brand new standalone expansion pack.

Titled Saints Row IV: Re-Elected, the new bundle will contain brand new features, including voice commands. No specific details regarding frame rate or resolution were confirmed.

Saints Row IV was described as “a blast” in the Console Monster review, scoring 88%.

New downloadable content was also announced. Named “Gat Out Of Hell”, the expansion takes players straight to Hell in a standalone demon-shooting adventure as Third Street Saints Gat and Kinzie.

The description for the expansion is as follows: “After the space faring antics of Saints Row IV, many fans asked what we could do next… the answer? Shoot The Devil in the face. Play as either Johnny Gat or Kinzie Kensington as you tear apart Hell in a quest to save the leader of the Saints’ soul.

“Historical icons, old friends, older enemies, a talking gun, a full length musical number, and a whole lot of other shenanigans all await you in the open world standalone expansion playground that is Saints Row: Gat Out Of Hell.”

“Gat Out Of Hell” will be available on all Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. Saints Row 4: Re-Elected is expected to launch on Friday, January 30th, 2015.
