Some pretty interesting news today as the latest 360 update has all but killed the online currency that was Microsoft Points (MS).

If you wish to purchase titles or avatar itemsyou will be paying real money for them. Meaning that you no longer have to worry about that wasted 80 MS points that will never be spent. Mainly due to the fact that the price for games and avatar items didn’t ever match the point increments available to buy via the Xbox 360.

Those of you who still have Microsoft points outstanding will be credited with their value in good old fashioned currency,so you won’t get ripped off if you have saved up some additional points.

All-in-all this is a great move by Microsoft and will hopefully signify the end of MS points forever.

Despite a long absence from gaming, during which he spent many a night reminiscing about the glory days on Halo 2, Matty is now back online smashing his way through Black Ops and soon enough Gears of War 3 and Battlefield 3.
