PSN Keeps PS3 Owners Offline Over Easter

Mortal Kombat and Portal 2 were both released this week and no doubt many PS3 owners were itching to get online and destroy their enemies be it using a ninja kung fo chop to the neck, or a simple shot in the sweet spot. Sadly it looks like this won’t be possible over the Easter period as the Playstation Network, which has been down for a few days already, is still refusing to let users sign on.

There was also meant to be a much publicized coalition between Steam and the PS3, but that has also been put on hold for the time being untilSony can get the PSN up and running again. Sony have yet to comment on why this downtime as happened or how long it will take to get back online.

Patrick Seybold, Sony’s senior director of Corporate Communications and Social Media said on his blog, “While we are investigating the cause of the Network outage, we wanted to alert you that it may be a full day or two before we’re able to get the service completely back up and running.”

“Thank you very much for your patience while we work to resolve this matter. Please stay tuned to this space for more details, and we’ll update you again as soon as we can.”

So sadly for Playstation owners this Easter looks set to be a strictly offline affair. Every effort is not doubt being made by Playstation to get gamers back online, so keep your eyes peeled for an update on this on-going situation here at Console Monster.
