PS Store revamp gets a launch date

Sony have just confirmed that the Playstation Store’s enchanced improvement will be launching on *drum roll* :

Tuesday April 15th 2008

The newly designed Store will feature an improved interface with easier navigation, a heap more functionality and a whole chunk of new content including a Metal Gear Solid Online beta trial.

Why the revamp? Well Sony ran a survey last which which showed up the flaws in the Store, mainly crying for a new interface and easier navigation.

Along with the new Store, you’ll see a heap of new content added. On the 17th April the Metal Gear Solid Online beta trial will launch (Yeah, we’re excited too), along with an add-on pack for Warhawk called Operation Broken Mirror and also two new add-ons for Lair called: Diabolical Dragons pack and Skyguard Upgrade pack – which apparently offer “new and exciting features and functions” – whatever that means.

If you’re a bit more of a trailer buff, then you can sink your square eyes into the latest trailer for GTA IV.

Don’t worry, the Store update won’t affect any of your current downloads or your wallet – so you won’t lose that £1.20 you have stashed away…
