Prototype Delayed – Oh Noes!

You read that right, the game that was supposed to take open world exploration to new heights has been delayed until 1st April, 2009… no foolin’.

Prototype has had press and fans all giddy with the thought of possesing and murdering at will, and since its announcement most have been chomping at the bit. We’ll all have to wait now, and Sierra Entertainment and Radical Entertainment have decided that’s for our own good:

“Sierra Entertainment and Radical Entertainment have made the decision to shift Prototype to launch in 2009…Since its announcement, Prototype has been regarded by many as groundbreaking and taking the open-world genre in new directions, and in the simplest explanation possible, we need more time to deliver the game the team initially set out to create.”

Gamestop lists the release in the US at the 1st of April in 2009.
