Premium 360 to be ‘dropped’; Elite price lowered?

Microsoft is rumoured to be dropping the Premium console according to latest ‘leaked’ images.

On new photos of the Arcade edition box, the Premium has being dropped from the comparision chart, leaving just the Elite specification instead.

Photos over at TaxiGamer, show the brand new boxes which are beginning to roll off production lines already. This also backs up evidence from a warehouse worker who sneaked this shot of a new box.

With the Premium being dropped, the price of the Elite is set to fall, giving gamers a much larger and much needed 120GB hard drive.

The pictures also reveal that to compensate for the price reduction of the Elite, no HD cables will be supplied in the box, making it the first time a console will not be ‘HD Ready’ out of the box; a major selling point over its rival PlayStation 3.

Of course, this is all to be confirmed, but we’re pretty sure with Games on Demand launching on the 11th August, a much needed price drop for the Elite would be a major selling point before the Christmas period.
