Portal: Still Alive XBLA Achievement list leaked?

A post on a site called Gaming Ring has apparently got inside information on the Portal: Still Alive Xbox Live Arcade achievement list. Console Monster’s very own achievement junkie is here to bust the rumour!

Parts of the achievement list seem very similar to the list that appeared in the Orange Box. Some of the achievement names even match… Here is the list*:

Go for Gold – 15 GamerScore
Win a gold medal on a challenge map.

Out of the Blue – 25 GamerScore
Once you have control of both portasl, only enter the orange portal

Rat’s Tail – 15 GamerScore
Find all the Rat Man Dens.

Is anyone there? – 5 GamerScore
Complete the game without ever taking a bullet.

Saw that one coming. – 5 GamerScore
Cause a rocket sentry to destroy its own rocket when the rocket has been redirected back towards it.

The camera adds ten pounds. – 10 GamerScore
Knock a turret over with a security camera.

LIke a Rat – 15 GamerScore
Trap yourself in a test chamber so that GLADOS has to help you continue

Feeling like Floating – 10 GamerScore
Dissolve a turret.

Tests like Chicken – 15 GamerScore
Find the chicken’s test results

Cupcake – 15 GamerScore

Beat 5 advanced chambers.

Fruitcake – 15 GamerScore
Beat 10Advanced chambers

Vanallia Crazy Cake – 35 GamerScore

Beat all advanced chambers

Let’s start with the obvious way to check for a fake achievement list and count up how much the GamerScore adds up to. After multiple count-ups, I figured the scores add up to 180 GamerScore, 20 less than the usual; giving high suspicions that the list is a fake.

Secondly, there are the spelling and punctuation errors. For example: “portasl”, “LIke a Rat” and “Vanallia Crazy Cake”. Would Valve really make that many errors? I highly doubt it (or at least I hope not). A lot of the sentences don’t end with full stops and the lack of use of a space bar in this description: “Beat 10Advanced chambers” isn’t promising either.

There’s currently no official word on the list’s genuinety but judging by the evidence above, it’s safe to say you won’t have to “complete the game without ever taking a bullet” just yet.

*The only feature of the list which has been changed is the placement of the GamerScore. All information was copied and pasted directly from the site.
