Figures released today show that over half of Portal 2’s sales have been from Xbox 360 users, a massive achievement considering it has the PC and PS3 versions to contend with.
In fact the PS3 version of the game only managed 35% of sales which compared to 54% for the Xbox 360 is far below what Sony would expect from a multi-platform title. No doubt the biggest reason for these low numbers is due to the Playstation Network now being down for 6 days leaving Portal 2 unplayable online. The PC version amassed 10% of sales.
Sadly for Sony it seems that we are only hearing bad news of late. We only hope that they get the Playstation Network safely and securely up and running in the next few days.
Valve will no doubt be hoping for an increase in sales for the PS3 version once the PSN is back online.
