Online retailer, Gameplay to close along with 35 GAME outlets

Retailer, GAME, has announced it is to close its sister website and 35 shops.

As of the 1st March, Gameplay is merging with Gamestation.co.uk.

A statement on the Gameplay website reads: “We’ve really enjoyed being part of the gaming landscape for the last decade or so, and we’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who has shopped with us over the years.

It continued: “We’ll be contacting all our customers via email shortly with more information.

The statement also stressed that any pre-orders users have on the website that are released before the 30th April are “totally safe and will be despatched to you as normal.

GAME is also aiming to reduce its 610 nationwide outlets to 550 by Christmas 2013. It’s not currently known which shops will be affected.
