Sadly, when Guitar Hero II is released for the Xbox 360 in 2007, gamers will not be able to explore their room with their rocking, because RedOctane is not releasing a wireless version of their X-Plorer guitar controller. (Unless, of course, you want your Xbox 360 to fly down to your floor.)

Talking to a RedOctane spokesperson, GameSpot revealed that indeed, we will not be seeing a wireless controller. “Today, GameSpot received confirmation from the RedOctane spokesperson that the final X-Plorer guitar will also be wired, dashing gamers’ hopes of recreating Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic’s dramatic finish to the band’s 1992 MTV Music Video Awards performance.”

Stay tuned at 360Monster for continuing coverage of Guitar Hero II!
