No PS3 price cut says Kaz Hirai

Sony will not be cutting the price of the PS3 before Christmas.

Kaz Hirai said so in an interview with the Financial Times stating that the PS3 is good value for money even during the current economic crisis.

Hirai said: “The answer is yes, if you’re asking, ‘Are these the prices we’re going with this Christmas?'”

He seems to think that the games industry will not suffer from the credit-crunch as people turn to low-cost ways to keep the family entertained. Presumably he also thinks we can all afford a PS3.

With a price cut a no-no, will Sony do the deed following the Christmas sales rush?
