Microsoft have played down rumours that they plan to release future Xbox 360’s with a built in HD-DVD drive. Toshiba Australia’s general manager, Mark Whittard, has recently been quoted saying that he expects Microsoft to announce an internal HD-DVD drive “fairly soon”.
But today, Gamerscoreblog’s Cesar Menendez has addressed the rumours by saying the Xbox team has no plans to release an internal HD-DVD drive:
“What we showcased at E3 was an external HD DVD drive, and we’re sticking with that.”
