‘No One Plays Shooters On a PC’ According To Bungie

The floodgates have truly opened in regards to articles, screenshots and information regarding Bungie’s latest incarnation, Destiny.

For many PC gamers it came as quite a surprise to hear that Destiny may never find it’s way onto their Desktop’s. Considering what the studio co-founder Jason Jones said it’s actually not all that unexpected after all.

“We did a bunch of ambitious things onHalodeliberately to reach out to people,” Jones told Dstructoid. “We limited players to two weapons, we gave them recharging health, we automatically saved and restored the game — almost heretical things to first-person shooters at the time. We made the game run without a mouse and keyboard. And now nobody plays shooters the way they used to play them beforeHalo’cause nobody wants to.”

I think a good number of PC gamers will take offense to that last statement. I may not be a PC gamer, but you’d be naive to think that no one uses them for FPS’s anymore. Oh well nice way to alienate the PC userbase Bungie, let’s hope it’s next title doesn’t get released on the PC either.

Lee is an avid gamer, photographer, film buff and sports fan. A scaly brat since birth it only seemed right for him to join Her Majesties Armed Forces of which he has been a proud member ever since. Despite a long absence from gaming, during which he spent many a night reminiscing about the glory days on Halo 2, Matty is now back online smashing his way through Black Ops and soon enough Gears of War 3 and Battlefield 3.
