New Xbox One games subscription service revealed

Microsoft has announced the Xbox Game Pass – a new gaming subscription service for the Xbox One.

The Xbox Game Pass works in a similar way to EA Access, giving users unlimited access to over 100 Xbox One and backward compatible Xbox 360 games – all for $9.99 per month (UK pricing to be announced).

A number of top industry publishers have signed up to the subscription service, including 2K, 505 Games, Bandai Namco Entertainment, Capcom, Codemasters, Deep Silver, Focus Home Interactive, SEGA, SNK Corporation, THQ Nordic GmbH, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Microsoft Studios.

At launch, the Xbox Game Pass will include a range of titles including Halo 5: Guardians, Payday 2, NBA 2K16 and SoulCalibur II.

In addition, all of the Xbox One games in the catalogue (and their related add-ons) will be available to purchase at an exclusive discount for Xbox Game Pass members.

As for the release date, Xbox Game Pass will be available to select members of the Xbox Inside Program starting from today (Tuesday, February 28th, 2018) with a very limited number of titles. The full service will launch in late spring.

Further details about the subscription service will be unveiled in the coming months.
