Gears of War creator, Cliff Bleszinski, has revealed that a new Epic game will be unveiled at GDC in February of next year.
The esteemed creator said the new I.P was originally his idea, but revealed that Prototype lead designer Eric Holmes has been handed the reigns to the project.
Whether Holmes’ previous work is an indication of what we can expect from the new game has yet to be seen, but Cliff Bleszinski seems rather excited about the project:
“I believe game designers are the Stan Lees and Jack Kirbys of our day, and we’re creating these universes that leave a huge impact on people,” he told EGM.
“Gamers vote with their dollars and they often like established IP, but those IPs came from somewhere, right?”
“Call of Duty was crafted by the original Medal of Honor guys. Gears of War was crafted by the original Unreal Tournament guy. I look forward to creating what’s next.”
